What About Orphaned Children in Haiti?

I have received several emails asking about what it might take to adopt an orphaned child from Haiti.  In my search for answers, I ran across this article on Zach Neilsen’s blog at takeyourvitaminz. This was a very helpful article, and anyone wishing to adopt a Haitian child should read it.

Dan Cruver: Since the earthquake in Haiti, my inbox has been inundated with emails requesting information about the process for adopting Haitian orphans. It’s been amazing to see God’s people rising up in response to Haiti’s crisis of orphaned and vulnerable children. As we all well know, it is a crisis to which we as Christians must respond, and we are.

We must keep in mind, though, that the complexities of Haiti’s orphan crisis are enormous. If you’re interested in reading an article that will shed light on these complexities, particularly as it relates to the issue of adoption, Jennifer Ludden of NPR has written an excellent and informative article entitled “Haiti’s Quake Orphans Will Stay Put, For Now.”
