America’s Most (and least) Bible-Minded Cities

barna_biblemindedcities_preview1CHBC: here is something interesting. The Barna Group has ranked Waterloo (i.e., Cedar Valley) as one of America’s least Bible-minded cities (88th on the list of 96). Barna’s statistics tell us that only 18% of our city’s population is Bible-minded. According to the report, Waterloo had the same percentage of Bible-minded residence as New York City (NY), Buffalo (NY), and Las Vegas (NV).

This is great news!! This means that we will have multiple opportunities to present the gospel to people who do not know Jesus Christ, and who value the Bible very little. In addition, because Jesus Christ is drawing the nations to Himself through the proclamation of His gospel, God is going to be drawing multitudes of people from Cedar Falls/Waterloo for His own glory. Praise! Let’s go tell someone the gospel!

P.S. UNI Students: God has brought the nations to UNI. You do not have to fly around the world to meet them. God graciously brought them to you for His glory and for their good. Lift up your eyes … the fields are white unto harvest!

Revelation 7:9–10 (ESV) — After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”
